Why MXR Selected This
A selection rooted in South African dance floors — the rhythms that built MXR's ear before anything else did.
Listen
How does this feel to you?
Be the first to say how this felt. Pick as many as fit.
- Dark
- Heavy and shadowy. A little menacing.
- Hopeful
- Like something's going to be alright.
- Aggressive
- Hard and confrontational. Teeth bared.
- Dreamy
- Floating, hazy, somewhere else entirely.
- Nostalgic
- Took you back somewhere.
- Reflective
- Made you think. Turned you inward.
- Relaxed
- Settled you. Shoulders dropped.
- Melancholy
- Beautiful sadness. The good kind of ache.
- Euphoric
- That hands-in-the-air moment. Pure joy.
- Energetic
- Made you move. You couldn't sit still.
When would you play this?
Be the first to say how this felt. A feeling and a moment are different things — this is the moment.
- Working
- In the background while you focus.
- Winding Down
- The end of the day. Slowing.
- Sunrise
- Early hours. The light coming up.
- The Gym
- Training. Moving. Pushing.
- Pre Going Out
- Getting ready. The night ahead.
- Sunday
- Slow morning. Nowhere to be.
- Alone Time
- Just you. Door closed.
- The Party
- People in the room. Volume up.
- The Commute
- Getting somewhere. Headphones on.
- Late Night
- After midnight, when the world has gone quiet.
